![]() Date: 29th August 2018 Venue: The Rifles Museum We are exploring the science of how camouflage works this summer holiday on Wednesday 29th August, from 10.30am to 3pm, with the amazing critters from The Reptile Ranch. Camouflage is adapted from nature and our amazing critters will help children explore this further. Our staff will show you how the military uses camouflage with uniforms, cam cream and the opportunity to create your own camouflage. £1 per child attending, spaces on a first come, first serve basis.

The Gurkha Museum’s 2018 Summer Exhibition will focus on the role of the Gurkhas during the Great War and its following conflicts, from 1914-1922. The Gurkha Museum’s Collections team has used artefacts from within its collections and material from its archive, as well as the help of its museum volunteers, to tell the story of the Gurkha’s First World War in a detailed and respectful manner and hopes to shed more light on an important aspect of the conflict. The Exhibition is to be held in the McDonald Gallery on the second floor of the Gurkha Museum from 2nd-30th August. Entry is free with admission to the museum. ![]() Date: Every Wednesday in August 2018 Venue: The Rifles Museum Every Wednesday this August, come on into The Rifles Museum for family activities. On the 1st and 15th we’ll be building egg box tanks. Put together your own armoured vehicle and take it home! On the 8th and 22nd come in for bugle making. Sound the advance this Summer. Finally, on the 29th, head into the museum for camouflage making. Find out how both Riflemen and animals stay hidden! Activities run from 10am to 4pm. On 22nd and 29th August there will be the chance to get your face painted too! We open at 10am and last admission 4.15pm. Free admission for children 16 years and under.
